日本翻訳家協会はすでに半世紀、その高い目標を掲げて活動してきました。当協会は国連教育文化機構（ユネスコ）に非政府機構として認可された国際翻訳連盟（Federation of International Translators略称FIT）の正会員団体です。
Japan Society of Translators JST
Japan Society of Translators (JST) is a regular member of Federation Internationale de Traducteurs (International Federation of Translators,
FIT) a non-government organization cooperating with UNESCO.
In 1953 under recommendations of Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education, Japan Translation Committee of PEN Club Japan established JST, joined by Japanese Association of Foreign Literature with Yutaka Tatsuno as its first Chair . It was thesame year when FIT was being established in Paris and JST decided to join FIT through the recommendation from Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In December 1954, Japan was elected to become a FIT Council Member.
In this 21st century, Japanese visibility is spreading in various areas of the global community. It is getting more and more integral to interact with cultural diversity and to understand each other in different parts of the world beyond language barriers. JST has already been actively advancing that mission for the past half century. We are an official member of International Federation of Translators (FIT), a non-government organization in association with UNESCO.
Every year, JST awards excellent achievements in translation by translators and publishers of the year.This year, JST'l l have 52th awarding ceremony.
JST organizes translation research forums and publishes its biannual JST Report.
The purpose of JST is to encourage and facilitate translation, including minority l anguages, both from and to Japanese and its publication with many people that are interested in foreign languages.
